IV Hydration
There are many situations where the body can become dehydrated. Most commonly, dehydration results from states of intense physical activity, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, and the flu. IV fluids not only help restore the body’s depleted fluid, but also, in many cases, make patients' symptoms improve dramatically.
The doctors at Priority Urgent Care will determine if your specific illness will benefit from IV fluid therapy. We have a designated IV therapy room where the doctor will gently place an IV (generally in the forearm) and begin your IV hydration. With an I.V. in place, additional medications may also be administered to aid with symptoms; I.V. medications generally are more effective and work quicker than most oral and intramuscular injections. The doctors at Priority Urgent Care will diligently select the best treatment plan to minimize the symptoms and duration of your illness.
